Creating and Managing Forms in Webey

Learn how to create forms with the drag-and-drop editor, configure field types, and manage submissions.

Forms are an essential part of every website. Whether it's a contact form, a newsletter signup, or a comprehensive survey — with Webey's form builder, you create professional forms without writing a single line of code. In this article, you learn everything about creating, managing, and deploying forms.

Opening the Form Editor

Forms in Webey are separate entities that you find under the "Forms" menu item in your dashboard. Click "New Form" to open the visual form editor. The editor works with DnD Kit (drag-and-drop), allowing you to drag fields onto your form and easily adjust the order. On the right side, you see a live preview that updates as you build.

Available Field Types

Webey offers a wide range of field types for every situation:

  • Text: A single-line text field for short input like name or subject.
  • Email: A special field with built-in email validation.
  • Textarea: A larger text field for longer messages or comments.
  • Select: A dropdown menu from which the visitor chooses an option.
  • Radio: Radio buttons allowing the visitor to select exactly one option.
  • Checkbox: Checkboxes for multiple choices or agreeing to terms.
  • Number: A numeric input field with optional minimum and maximum values.
  • Phone: A field optimized for phone numbers with proper input validation.
  • Date: A date picker allowing visitors to easily select a date.
  • File: An upload field allowing visitors to attach files.

Using Form Presets

Want to get started quickly? Webey offers ready-made form presets for common scenarios. Choose a preset like "Contact Form," "Registration Form," or "Quote Request" and customize it to your needs. Presets already contain the right fields, labels, and validation rules, so you can publish immediately without setting up everything yourself.

Configuring Fields

Each field has configurable properties. Set the label (the text above the field), add placeholder text that disappears when the visitor starts typing, mark fields as required, and add helper text below the field. For select and radio fields, you configure the available options. You can also adjust the width of fields to show multiple fields side by side.

Placing a Form on a Page

To display a form on your website, add the "form" block type to a page in the block editor. Select the desired form and it will automatically be rendered on your page. You can place the same form on multiple pages — all submissions are collected centrally. Set a confirmation message that visitors see after submitting.

Viewing Submissions

All form submissions are automatically saved in your Webey dashboard under "Submissions." Here you see an overview of all received responses with date, sender, and the filled-in data. You can filter submissions by form, search by keyword, and open individual submissions for all details. This way, you never miss an important message from a visitor.

Tips for Effective Forms

Keep forms as short as possible — only ask for what you really need. Every extra field lowers the conversion rate. Use clear labels and placeholders so visitors know exactly what is expected. Place the form in a prominent position on the page, preferably above the fold. Always add a privacy notice when collecting personal data, with a link to your privacy policy.

Advanced Capabilities

For more complex scenarios, you can create multiple forms for different purposes. Create separate forms for contact requests, quote requests, and newsletter signups. Each form collects its own submissions, so you maintain oversight. Combine the form block with other blocks on the page — for example, a text block with instructions above the form and a FAQ block below it for frequently asked questions.
