Step 1: Enable Multilingual Support
Go to Settings β Languages. Your default language (e.g., Dutch) is already set. Add extra languages by clicking + Add language.
Available languages: Dutch, English, German, French, Spanish, and more.
Step 2: Create a Translation
Open an existing page in the editor. Click "Create translation" in the toolbar. A new page is created that's automatically linked to the original.
Step 3: Translate the Content
The new page has the same blocks as the original. Translate the text block by block. The block structure and settings (colors, layout) are preserved.
π‘ Tip: You don't need to translate all blocks. Blocks without text (images, spacers, dividers) can stay the same.
Step 4: Language Switcher
In the Navigation block, you can enable a language switcher. This displays flags or language codes (NL/EN) that let visitors switch languages.
Step 5: SEO for Multiple Languages
Webey automatically generates hreflang tags for linked pages. This tells Google which page belongs to which language, so the correct version is shown in search results.
Step 6: Content Types and Translations
Content type items (blogs, products) support multilingual fields. When creating a content type, you can choose which fields have a translation (e.g., title_nl and title_en).
π‘ Tip: Start with your primary language and translate afterwards. This ensures the structure and content are complete before you begin translating.
